In Ballet Level I, students will focus on building flexibility, strength, and conditioning through a structured curriculum that includes comprehensive barre and center work. Classical technique is emphasized, with a special focus on proper body alignment and turnout. Students will be challenged to memorize and perform dance steps and combinations while learning key ballet terminology.

Students will build strength, flexibility, and technique through full barre, center work, adagio, and progressions. Emphasis is placed on alignment, turnout, and mastering ballet terminology. Dancers will be challenged to memorize and execute combinations with precision.

With approval, students will begin pre-pointe and transition to pointe when ready. Pre-pointe/Pointe work is recommended in addition to Level III classes.

Classical Conservatory Repertoire

Focus: Ballet • Musical Theatre • Performance Technique
This class immerses dancers and musical theatre students in the rich traditions of classical repertoire. Each session focuses on learning excerpts and ensemble choreography inspired by historic ballets, operettas, and Golden Age musicals — such as Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, West Side Story, Oklahoma!, and My Fair Lady.
Students will study original staging, musical phrasing, and stylistic details that shaped these works, while developing the artistry, poise, and storytelling skills required for professional performance. Emphasis is placed on musicality, expression, partner awareness, and stage presence.
Throughout the semester, students will:
- Learn authentic choreography from classical and musical theatre repertoire
- Explore character work and stylistic transitions between genresStrengthen performance quality through group and solo work
- Gain insight into historical context, composers, and choreographers
- Prepare selected scenes or variations for studio showings or performance exams

Pre-Pointe/Pointe Class
Saturdays 10-11am
Ages 10+ with instructor approval
Pointe work requires sufficient foot and ankle strength, proper technique, and guidance from a qualified instructor. It is essential that students are ready for pointe work to avoid injury. In many cases, a dancer must be able to demonstrate proper ballet technique and have the necessary physical strength before being allowed to begin pointe.

Join Ms. Krista into the widely embraced genres of Modern, Contemporary, and Lyrical. This combination of "MCL" aims to heighten students' awareness of body alignment and cultivate core strength. The primary emphasis is on enhancing flexibility and sustaining movements, with a thorough focus on teaching the intricate connection between music and movement, fostering emotional and expressive depth. Enrolling in this class promises a significant enhancement of artistic expression for dancers. This class is an excellent addition to any aerialist's or dancer's training.

This Tap class is tailored for those who have not only mastered the foundational and intermediate steps, but also have a keen understanding of rhythm, counting music, and can retain choreography quickly. The syllabus covers a range of tap styles, and dancers will also focus on learning how to tap in counterpoint and perform clean acapella tap combinations.
