General Audition Information
Our theatre, voice and dance students have the opportunity to audition for our main stage musical/ drama. A 16- bar audition song is required for any singing or lead part. If you are using accompaniment tracks this equates to 30 seconds of singing time of your music. For dramas, a 2-minute monologue is required.
For accompaniment, bring a CD with your music or make sure a copy of the music is on your phone or other device.
We do not recommend singing acapella. We highly recommend the Hal Leonard collection of song books with piano accompaniment CDs. Students can correctly read the music and all of the accompaniment is provided by piano. This most closely simulates professional auditions.
For students interested in stage fighting parts, previous or current enrollment in Trilogy stunts classes is required.
- Students interested in an acting role may perform a two minute monologue in place of a song.
- Students’ accounts must be in good standing to audition and perform in our musicals.
- Audition form (sent out in the confirmation packet once registered for classes) must be filled out completely and 5 copies made.
- Students are encouraged to bring their 8×10 headshot and resume, if they are seeking a lead role along with their 5 copies of the audition form.
Trilogy is a 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt organization, our productions are our semi–annual fundraisers for our school, and therefore, each cast member is committed to sell 20 tickets to support Trilogy and the excellence we bring to our performances.
NOTE: Program ads for the production are an option to diminish the ticket requirement. The dollar value of the ad is taken off of the sale of the show tickets.
