Musical Theatre Jr. (Ages 7-11): Hakuna Matata

Join Ms. Tasia for an exciting semester of training and fun in this Musical Theatre class where students learn how to do it all! Every class will be full of singing, dancing and acting to the most popular songs from Broadway's version of "The Lion King." Students will be taught the basics in proper vocal skills, trained

**Auditions for this class will be held prior to semester beginning** (Any students not selected will be placed in the Musical Theatre (or other genre) class of their choice.)
Musical Theatre students in this class will take their training to a higher level in singing, dancing and acting with Miss Tasia. All fundamentals will be reinforced, while adding more complex study in all three genres. Students will show off their hard work while performing to some of SHREK'S greatest hits in a class showcase held in the Colby Theatre at the end of the semester.
Classes run January 6- May 3, 2025.
Students are also encouraged to audition for Beetlejuice, March 13-16, and The Prince of Egypt, April 10-13. Production fees for shows are an additional $225.00 per show if cast.
**Students in this Musical Theatre class are required to also be enrolled in Tap and Jazz dance classes as we will be focusing on advanced training for the musical theatre stage!**Students must also currently be enrolled in Jazz and Tap classes.
**Costume pieces will be provided by students as directed by Miss Tasia

There is no doubt that this Musical Theatre class with Miss Brook is going to be POPULAR as students embark on a journey to DEFY GRAVITY with their gifts of singing, dancing and acting! Our comprehensive curriculum covers the essentials of proper vocal skills, stage knowledge and etiquette, exciting choreography, and the fundamentals of theatre movement and acting.
With selections from the global hit, "Wicked", students will dive into the iconic tunes of one of the greatest musicals, mastering pieces that showcase the talents of these young artists when they perform in their class showcase in the Colby Theatre at the end of the semester!
Classes run January 6- May 3, 2025.
Students are also encouraged to audition for Beetlejuice, March 13-16, and The Prince of Egypt, April 10-13. Production fees for shows are an additional $225.00 per show if cast.

Musical Theatre Teens and Tweens: Best of Wonderland!

Calling all students ages 10 and above! We invite you to join Miss Brook in our Musical Theatre class for Teens and Tweens- featuring the exciting and fun music from a Broadway favorite- WONDERLAND! This class will light up the stage as students sing, dance, and act to the exciting songs that will have everyone wanting to get up and join in the fun! Whether you're a stage novice or a seasoned performer, don't miss out on this exceptional class!

Broadway Babies (ages 4-7): SING! (Music from the animated film)

We invite your 4-7 year old to join Miss Hadley and discover the world of Musical Theatre- singing, dancing and acting for our littlest stars! Geared towards our youngest artists, this class provides introductory training in beginning vocal skills, stage knowledge, theatre etiquette, movement and acting, along with simple choreography. Join us for a delightful experience featuring iconic songs from this animated musical favorite!
Students will perform their class showcase in the Colby Theatre at the end of the semester.
Classes run January 6- May 3, 2025.
Students are also encouraged to audition for The Prince of Egypt, April 10-13. Production fees for shows are an additional $225.00 per show if cast.

Solos and Duets (ages 7-11): Songs with Schwartz!

Wednesdays 6-7pm
Ages 7-12

Solos and Duets with Miss Hadley places emphasis on vocal prowess! Whether singing individually or harmonizing with others, cultivating your voice is paramount. Students will delve into essential skills such as breathing techniques, maintaining proper singing posture, performance skills and much more! This semester's songs will be a variety of songs from American musical theatre composer and lyricist- STEPHEN SCHWARTZ!
If you love to sing, and want to take your training to a higher vocal level- this is the class for you as we focus on Mr. Schwartz's hit songs spanning five decades, including shows such as "Prince of Egypt" and "Wicked!"
Students will perform in their class showcase in the Colby Theatre at the end of the semester.

Join Moana, Maui, and Mr. Alex for singing, dancing, and acting in this dynamic Musical Theatre Class, where we will highlight the songs that have made Moana a favorite Disney musical with young and old alike! Our comprehensive curriculum covers the essentials of proper vocal skills, stage knowledge, fun choreography, and the fundamentals of theatre movement and acting. Songs such as "You're Welcome", "How Far I'll Go", and "Shiny" will be presented by these young musical theatre artists in their class showcase in the Colby Theatre at the end of the semester!

Chamber Vocal Ensemble with Mr. Chris (BY AUDITION ONLY)

This master class, taught by Mr. Chris, is by audition only for vocalists that are at a level of skill to include complex harmonies, acapella work and much more! All serious vocalists are invited to audition for this special 90 minute class. The Chamber Ensemble has performed and workshopped at the prestigious M-PACT vocal festival multiple times, and most recently performed in our very own Colby with their own band- presenting live music and artistry at its best!
Students will perform in their class showcase in their Colby Theatre at the end of the semester.

Whether you're a stage novice or a seasoned performer, don't miss out on this exceptional class taught by professional actor- our very own Alex Kaljumaa!

Dive into high-level training and more fun than you can imagine with Ms. Tasia in this Senior Musical Theatre class- featuring the best of "Little Shop of Horrors!" Curriculum for this class covers vocal skills, harmonies, counterpoint execution, stage knowledge, stage etiquette, theatre movement, acting, and the art of musical theatre choreography. Showcase your talents, perform beloved songs, and bring your training to another level- whether you are a beginner or seasoned performer!

Young Stars Acting Academy - Level 1: The World of Dr. Seuss!

Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm
Ages 8-12

Acting 1 serves as the cornerstone of a student's journey under the tutelage of Mr. Tim toward becoming a proficient stage actor. The course emphasizes key aspects such as character development, engaging with others, honing physical awareness, concentration, memorization, imagination, and trust-building. Additionally, students will delve into theater etiquette and gain valuable theatrical knowledge. This semester's class will be showcasing their training through material of Theodor Geisel- better known as DR. SEUSS! Selections will be performed from various favorites from the well-loved author as Acting 1 brings "The World of Dr. Seuss" to the stage at their showcase in the Colby Theatre at the end of the semester.

Comedic Acting through IMPROV!

Thursdays 7:30-8:30pm
Ages 10+

One of the most important skills a live theatre artist can have is the ability to confidently improvise!
Join Mr. Tim in this delightfully entertaining and creatively charged acting class! Participants will master the art of improvisation, learning to act without a script and think quickly on their feet—all while enjoying a lively experience every week. Laughter, a fantastic form of therapy, meets the invaluable acting technique of Improv, a skill beneficial for everyone. In the unpredictable realm of live theatre, improvisational skills are indispensable, fostering confidence and creativity in every actor!

Young Stars Acting Academy - Level 2: A Midsummer Night's Dream

Thursdays 8:30-9:30pm
Ages 12+

Acting 2 takes the next steps in advancing a student's training to become a well-honed and skilled stage actor- and this semester it will be through studying and performing none other than selections from Shakespeare's "A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM."
This course with Mr. Tim, delves deeper into character development, refining interactive and reactive techniques, and honing skills such as physical awareness, concentration, memorization, imagination, and trust building. The selection for this semester is truly a treat! Do not miss out on getting to be a part of the legacy of Shakespeare on the stage!
This class will present their skills by performing scenes in their class showcase in the Colby Theatre at the end of the semester. (A script fee of approximately $15 will apply.) Classes run January 6- May 3, 2025.
